Be it resolved that in order to ensure te implementation of the Synod Resolutions, the Archbishop of Castries appoint an Archdiocesan Pastoral Planning Team (APPT), supported by a full-time Secretariat. This Team is to comprise the Archbishop and the Vicar General as Ex Officio as well as thirteen (13) other members; seven (7) of whom will be elected and six (6) who will be selected in the Archbishop’s own deliberate judgement.  The Team is to be formed no later than 31st May, 2009 and its duties shall be:

To formulate and initiate the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan 2020; and

To coordinate, facilitate, monitor and evaluate the implementation process at all levels.

Be it resolved that a Special Review Committee be set up by the Archbishop to review all Archdiocesan policies, guidelines and structures, e.g. commissions, boards, organizations that exist at Parish and Archdiocesan levels; and that this review be accomplished by the first Sunday of Advent 2009.

Be it resolved that the parishes develop innovative ways of implementing the Synod Resolutions within the context of the Mission/Vision Statement making particular use of modern technology for the dissemination of information and public education.

Be it resolved that the Archdiocese provide the opportunities for capacity building and empowerment of parish leaders including clergy, religious and laity. Be it resolved that under the leadership of the Parish Priest, each parish will appoint its local Parish Implementation Committee (PIC) by 15th July, 2009, to facilitate the implementation of the Synod Resolutions.

Be it resolved that the Parish Implementation Committee (PIC) submit bi-annual progress reports to the Archbishop through the Parish Council within the specified framework.

Be it resolved that all Catholics be encouraged to commit themselves to financially supporting the implementation of the Synod Resolutions; and be it further resolved that the Archdiocese allocate adequate capital and human resources for such implementation.

Be it resolved that in the implementation of the Resolutions, every effort be made to maintain a spirit of warmth, hospitality and welcome in our churches, with an openness to Ecumenism, and in Solidarity with those who reach out to our local Church in a spirit of mission, recognizing and affirming the contribution of all those who offer their services to the Church.

And be it further resolved that in response to the call to renew the Church, we put off the old self and put on the new self according to the mind of Christ, and that we are united in mind and heart, and work under the influence of the Holy Spirit who blows where He wills.
